The Senior Manager, Consolidations and Intercompany Accounting will manage the global financial consolidation process and intercompany accounting activities within the Global Coffee Company’s Controllership organization. The role is responsible for the integrity, timeliness, and continuous improvement of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial results, including consolidation entries, intercompany matching and eliminations, consolidated cash flow and equity reporting, administration of related consolidation and close tools, and operational leadership for implementation of the company’s consolidation platform. The Senior Manager will also support the controlled integration of acquisitions, joint ventures, legal entity changes, and other organizational transformations into the company’s consolidated reporting environment.
This leader will partner closely with the Director, Accounting, business unit and regional controllers, Global Business Services, External Reporting, Technical Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, IT, Internal Audit, and external auditors. The Senior Manager will help ensure consolidated financial statements are complete and accurate in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies, intercompany balances and transactions are appropriately recorded and eliminated, and supporting controls operate effectively.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader with strong consolidations, intercompany accounting, financial systems, close management, and internal control experience. The candidate should combine sound technical judgment with disciplined execution, process ownership, team development, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex, global, and evolving organization.
Key Responsibilities
Global Consolidations and Close Management
• Manage the end-to-end global financial consolidation process for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, including the collection, validation, consolidation, review, and reporting of financial results.
• Coordinate the companywide close calendar, key milestones, dependencies, submission requirements, and issue escalation in partnership with regional and functional finance teams.
• Apply U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies to evaluate whether consolidated financial statements are complete, accurate, and supported by appropriate analysis and documentation.
• Review consolidated balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, and equity activity, including period-over-period analytics, unusual items, and completeness of consolidation adjustments.
• Review top-side, post-close, and consolidation entries, ensuring each entry is appropriately supported, approved, recorded, and assessed for its impact on the consolidated financial statements.
• Prepare and review consolidated equity roll-forwards, ownership and noncontrolling interest schedules, cash flow consolidation support, and other consolidated schedules required for internal management and external reporting.
• Manage the preparation and review of the consolidated statement of cash flows, including financial statement movement and variation reporting, identification of noncash activity, intercompany cash flow eliminations, cash flow adjustments, estimated reporting, system pushdowns, and resolution of reporting-calendar timing differences.
• Implement and administer established ownership and issue-resolution protocols for late submissions, out-of-balance conditions, mapping issues, data quality concerns, and other matters that could affect the close.
• Administer close cutover, data-lock, and pencils-down procedures across source and consolidation systems, including the controlled processing and escalation of late entries, repeated interface loads, post-close adjustments, and significant changes submitted after reporting deadlines.
Intercompany Accounting, Settlement and Eliminations
• Manage global intercompany accounting in accordance with established policies and governance, including transaction recording, matching, reconciliation, dispute resolution, settlement, and elimination requirements.
• Maintain a documented responsibility framework for intercompany processes, including entity and counterparty ownership, preparer and reviewer responsibilities, submission requirements, escalation protocols, and completion evidence.
• Ensure intercompany receivables, payables, revenue, expense, loans, interest, dividends, investments, and other reciprocal balances are appropriately recorded, matched, and eliminated from consolidated results.
• Lead the review and resolution of intercompany imbalances, aged differences, foreign currency impacts, timing differences, and counterparty mismatches, with clear accountability across participating entities and service delivery teams.
• Partner with Tax, Treasury, Legal, regional controllers, and Global Business Services on intercompany agreements, transfer pricing entries, funding activities, settlements, netting, and legal entity considerations.
• Monitor recurring intercompany reporting and close metrics, including unresolved differences, aging, settlement status, recurring root causes, and completion of required controls.
• Drive standardization and automation of intercompany processes, including opportunities to improve transaction matching, confirmations, reconciliation, netting, settlement, and elimination workflows.
Financial Reporting and Cross-Functional Support
• Partner with External Reporting and FP&A to support quarterly and annual reporting, management reporting, variance analysis, and alignment of consolidated results across reporting outputs.
• Manage the controllership process for capturing, reconciling, documenting, and consistently mapping unusual items and potential Non-GAAP adjustments across consolidated, external, and management reporting. Coordinate with FP&A, Technical Accounting, External Reporting, and Controllership leadership on completeness and supporting documentation, while recognizing that process capture does not constitute approval of adjustment eligibility or disclosure treatment.
• Provide consolidation and intercompany schedules to support statutory, legal entity, IFRS, internal management, and external reporting requirements, as applicable.
• Prepare and explain consolidation, intercompany, cash flow, equity, and other supporting schedules requested for quarterly reviews, annual audits, internal audit procedures, and other assurance activities.
• Prepare clear issue summaries, accounting analyses, close updates, and decision materials for the Director, Accounting and senior accounting and finance leadership.
• Provide ad hoc reporting and support special projects as directed by accounting and finance leadership.
Financial Systems, Data and Reporting Governance
• Serve as the day-to-day functional process owner and subject matter resource for the consolidation platform and related close, account reconciliation, and task management tools, under the Director’s overall functional governance and in partnership with IT and system administrators.
• Administer consolidation processes, data submissions, interfaces, validation rules, consolidation logic, elimination rules, recurring reports, and user support within the role’s scope.
• Review consolidation system mapping changes, metadata requests, ownership structures, currencies, reporting hierarchies, and other configuration changes for completeness and accuracy; approve changes within delegated authority and escalate significant changes to the Director.
• Maintain effective governance over chart-of-accounts requests and reporting hierarchies that support internal, management, legal entity, and external reporting requirements.
• Manage recurring reconciliations between the consolidation platform and source, planning, and predecessor systems, including trial balance reconciliations, financial statement movement analyses, interface control totals, and post-pushdown tie-outs.
• Coordinate consolidation-system and reporting activities associated with legal entity creation, ownership changes, reorganizations, mergers, dissolutions, deactivations, hierarchy changes, and historical-data retention, including related ownership, currency, consolidation, and elimination configurations.
• Provide guidance, support, and training to finance teams on consolidation, intercompany, close, and reconciliation tools and requirements.
• Partner with IT and Finance Transformation teams on system implementations, upgrades, integrations, testing, automation, and simplification initiatives affecting consolidation or intercompany accounting.
• Serve on the operational finance implementation team of the Global Coffee Company consolidation platform, coordinating requirements definition, process and system design, data and metadata readiness, testing, control design and documentation, training, cutover, deployment, user readiness, and post-implementation stabilization.
Governance, Controls and Audit Support
• Manage and continuously improve internal controls over consolidation, intercompany accounting, eliminations, financial system changes, journal entries, reconciliations, and close management within the role’s scope.
• Ensure established procedures and controls are appropriately designed, documented, and operating effectively, with timely remediation of identified deficiencies and sustainable corrective actions.
• Execute and continuously improve close, control, documentation, disclosure-support, and management-certification processes appropriate for a newly independent U.S. public company, including accelerated close requirements, Sarbanes-Oxley control execution, audit-ready documentation, and disciplined issue escalation.
• Maintain complete and audit-ready documentation for significant entries, eliminations, reconciliations, judgments, system changes, analyses, and review evidence.
• Serve as a key liaison with internal and external auditors for consolidation, intercompany, and related system and control matters, coordinating responses and supporting timely resolution of questions.
• Partner with Technical Accounting and External Reporting to resolve accounting and reporting matters that affect consolidated results or disclosures.
Process Improvement and Transformation
• Develop recommendations for and execute the approved roadmap to standardize, simplify, automate, and strengthen consolidation and intercompany processes across the global organization.
• Identify recurring close issues, intercompany differences, manual workarounds, data quality concerns, and control gaps; perform root-cause analysis; and implement sustainable solutions that improve accuracy, speed, transparency, and accountability.
• Drive harmonization of close calendars, submission requirements, reconciliation standards, elimination procedures, and documentation across legacy organizations and geographies.
• Lead or support finance integration, separation, acquisition, ERP, consolidation platform, shared services, and transformation initiatives affecting the role’s responsibilities.
• Manage the consolidation and reporting execution associated with acquisitions and joint ventures, including loading and validating opening balance sheets, recording purchase accounting and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (U.S. GAAP) conversion adjustments, establishing ownership and equity structures, incorporating historical results, supporting cash flow presentation, and coordinating subsequent ledger pushdowns.
• Establish meaningful close, quality, intercompany, and control metrics and use those metrics to identify trends, define priorities, and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain a hands-on approach to complex accounting and reporting challenges while balancing operational execution, team leadership, and longer-term transformation priorities.
Cross-Functional Partnership and Business Support
• Build strong relationships with regional and business unit controllers, Global Business Services, External Reporting, Technical Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, IT, Internal Audit, Legal, and other stakeholders.
