Senior Director, Head of BU Procurement 

The Senior Director, Head of BU Procurement is the leader responsible for developing and driving the Procurement vision with key colleagues within the business unit that they are responsible for.  The individual will be the key partner to the Business Unit President and SVP, SC with a focus on delivering the Procurement objectives and to translate the business unit priorities to the Procurement Leadership Team. 

This position will facilitate the development and execution of long-term strategies that will leverage the spend of the business unit to optimize service, quality, technology and support business unit growth. The role will mitigate risk, improve processes and systems, and reduce overall cost of ownership and acquisition through the direct management of a team of professionals and through influence within the Procurement team and their peers within the business unit. The role ensures relevance of strategic sourcing activities to BU and alignment of Procurement and BU.

The position is based in our Burlington, MA and will have a hybrid schedule.

 What you will do:

  • Scale of Responsibilities
    • Establish and implement short and long-term goals, strategic plans, policies and procedures for the BU aligned with the Enterprise performance metrics.
    • Deliver on key objectives (AOP), delivery, quality, service, cost, innovation, and growth commitments for BU Procurement.
    • Coordinate long range strategies with the business partners across the BU and implement plans.
    • Partners with Category Managers, R&D, Engineering and Planning to deliver annual value improvements and drives competitive advantage.
    • Partners with Supply Chain to create demand plans for supplier partners.
    • Responsible for the coordination of business projects and programs (e.g. M&A integration, make or buy, vendor transition, CSR), monitoring execution and communicating results to senior leaders.
    • Facilitation of Productivity Summits and supplier relationship management (SRM) practices with BU Leadership
    • Ensure alignment with business colleagues within the BU on  key projects
    • Serve as the point of contact and ensure the implementation of Enterprise Processes such as Supplier Quality, Supplier Risk and Supplier Management
  • Technical Responsibilities
    • Gather BU requirements and assure compliance to regulatory requirements
    • Engage with Supplier Partners, ensuring capacity to meet demand and works with Category Management to close gaps
    • Drive engagement in all spend areas, including Indirects (SG&A), Logistics and commodities
    • Influence R&D and Commercial partners earlier in NPI process, monitor product pipeline, support product platforming
    • Serve as escalation point of contact for Procurement within the BU, work with Category Management to resolve problems
    • Consolidate, analyze and report on BU procurement metrics for business reviews
  • Leadership Responsibilities
    • Provides BU input to category strategies and support implementation of aligned strategies
    • Engage with supplier leadership (Vice President, General Managers, President, Functional and Operations Leaders) to solve business problems and assure alignment with KDP objectives
    • Develop and assess Procurement talent and improve resource productivity and business acumen
    • Mentors and develops staff through coaching and development plans to ensure business connect and delivery of insights
    • Implements talent initiatives to improve Employee Engagement Survey results
    • Drive the development and implementation of common processes, standardized practices, use of tools and technologies that can scaled company wide
    • Follow all KDP policies and procedures and exemplify KDP values of Team First, Deliver Big, Think Bold, and Be Fearless and Fair.

Requirements:
  • Master’s Degree of Business Administration or similar preferred or a bachelor’s degree with extensive experience in Supply Chain Management having a Procurement emphasis.
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in cross-functional supply chain roles, preferably in the FMCG or Packaged Beverage sectors.
  • Minimum of 10 years in Procurement Category Management with experience organizing work across a Procurement organization based on strategy and operational requirements.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience required with Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of businesses distribution processes and Total Cost of Ownership. Process orientation with an enterprise mindset.
  • Ability to work across multiple departments and to determine and interpret business needs and to translate those needs into system requirements and effective action plans.
  • Proven ability to interact with management at all levels and to participate in setting strategic direction for the procurement team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet challenging deadlines, lead a team of professionals and solve problems, both quantitative and qualitative.
  • Strong Project Leadership skills
  • Engagement and drive, business acumen and ability network are must have soft skills
