Senior Accounting Manager, Accounting Operations

Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) is seeking a highly experienced and motivatedSenior Accounting Manager to lead our lease and fixed asset accounting functions. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the accurate accounting treatment of company-wide fixed assets and leases, while also serving as the accounting lead for related business transformation initiatives. 

This role will supervise a team of nine, including three direct reports, in addition to an outsourced team, and will collaborate closely with leaders across accounting, finance, and operational departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP 

The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated and capable of working in a fast-pacedproject-driven environment while managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision. Strong leadership and organizational skills, a keen sense of urgency, and attention to detail are essential to meet deadlines and adhere to contractual timelines. A process-oriented mindset and a commitment to identifying and implementing process improvements are also important. Professionalism in interactions with both internal and external customers is crucial. This role requires effective collaboration with Outsourced Accounting Team, Finance, Project Managers, Capital Management Department, Regional Business Units, Facility Infrastructure, Fleet Operations, Accounts Payable, Information Technology, and Compliance.

Primary Areas of Responsibility

Specific responsibilities for the Senior Accounting Manager position will include, but not limited to:

  • Oversee timely and accurate monthly close processes, including complex accounting entries related to lease accounting, asset retirement obligations and accruals.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of the lease and fixed asset policies in compliance with current GAAP and FASB standards.
  • Analyze new leases for proper classification and ensure accurate reporting and disclosure over $1.7 billion in lease commitments. 
  • Act as a strategic partner in lease strategy development, ensuring robust internal controls are designed, implemented, and tested.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with real estate and fleet operations to provide accounting insights and decision support.
  • Manage reporting on lease commitments, fixed asset disposals, and impairments, ensuring data accuracy and relevance.
  • Maintain the integrity of over $2 billion in fixed assets, including capitalization analysis, depreciation, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Supervise fixed asset subledgers and ensure timely and accurate asset capitalization, disposals, and transfers in compliance with company policies.
  • Lead outsourcing initiatives and support offshore teams and related processes.
  • Provide accounting leadership and guidance on key transformation and productivity projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support internal financial and SOX control enhancements.
  • Support internal and external audit processes and assist with finance budgeting and forecasting as needed.
  • Stay current with changes in accounting regulations and standards related to leasing and fixed assets.
  • Participate in special projects and contribute to ongoing process improvements.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 
  • CPA or CMA preferred 
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience, 5+ years of supervisory experience (public accounting experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, ASC 842, and other relevant accounting standards
  • Strong organization and communication skills required to prioritize and efficiently execute tasks
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborate effectively with subject matter experts across all areas of the Finance and Operations organization to drive consensus and teamwork 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks for meeting deadlines and willingness to work overtime as necessary
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be proficient in use of Excel, knowledge of SAP or another large ERP systems a plus
