What will you be doing?

This position reports directly to the SVP of Supply Chain and is accountable for the development and execution of the organization’s security risk management strategy and related programs. Specifically, this position is responsible for all aspects of security risk management with respect to the viability and survivability of the enterprise: Operational, Financial and Strategic. In collaboration with KDP senior business and functional leaders, develop a formal, documented, risk-driven enterprise wide security strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategy Design and Implementation

  • Define the program’s mission, vision, goals, organizational chart and structure, strategic program components, special focus areas and the processes and resources required to maintain and improve the program.
  • Develop and implement security policies, protocols, procedures and guidelines as they pertain to all facets of security risk management.
  • Establish clear and specific operational priorities to achieve programmatic goals within a three-to-five-year period. Oversee the day-to-day implementation across the enterprise.
  • Ensure the security strategy supports the diverse needs relative to food safety, employee safety, asset protection and other KDP business models.
  • Manage, plan and forecast the operational and capital budgets for the KDP security program. Track program performance using an organized and systematic methodology of metrics, measurement and security scorecards; report to appropriate senior leadership.
  • Maintain effective liaison with all internal and external stakeholders in the viability and success of the enterprise, including federal, state and local law enforcement, intelligence, Homeland Security and industry regulatory agencies and their representatives, as well as, where appropriate, media, investors, shareholders and strategic business partners.

Risk Assessment and Information Gathering  

  • Understand and assess the risks, threats and vulnerabilities confronting the organization and continuously align business and security resources behind these in a prioritized, risk-driven manner.
  • Gather intelligence and information to assess the risk and exposure of KDP personnel in the cities and areas in which KDP employees operate.
  • Oversee the access control software and database for the support center locations are being sustained, for functionality of all badge readers, door strikes, maglock and panels. Conduct monthly, quarterly and yearly audits of access control system.
  • Ensure future incidents are minimal through safety drills, facility inspections, incident reporting trends or information communicated from corporate office associates or the appropriate local, state, and federal emergency management personnel.
  • Create, develop and implement all Physical Security policies and procedures and sets an example in adhering to them. Communicate with the leadership team to drive accountability and compliance.
  • Liaison in a cooperative fashion with all business partners, particularly in connection with all new hire associate orientations and terminations.

Protection of Human Capital, Core Assets, Information and Reputation Management

  • Define, develop and implement security policies, protocols, procedures and guidelines as they pertain to all facets of security risk management.
  • Identify, develop and maintain the skills and capabilities of the internal and external security personnel assigned to the corporate security program at a best-practice level. This will include implementing training programs for security and non-security personnel regarding pertinent security or risk mitigation issues, and provide mentoring, as needed.
  • Manage Workplace Violence Prevention and Threat Assessment program to ensure employee safety. Develop KDP-wide initiatives, including active shooter planning, behavioral threat assessment, threat management strategies and support, policy development, threat assessment team management, and employee training and awareness.
  • Partner with EHS on workplace and employee safety initiatives, awareness and training.
  • Maintain and implement technology and state-of-the-art equipment related to providing world-class security risk management services.
  • Purchase security-related supplies, equipment, or technology.

Crisis Management / Incident Response

  • Coordinate KDP’s preparation for disruptive events, including malicious acts in both the
  • physical realm and from natural or manmade disasters. 
  • In collaboration with other key leaders, develop protocols for disaster recovery and
  • business continuity in response to emergencies, crisis and significant incidents.
  • Work closely with Business Continuity and senior executives in response to real-time crises, providing sound judgment and advice to inform decision-making.
  • Oversee the investigation into any security breach/incident or alleged internal misconduct.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with emergency service providers and public safety agencies.

Executive Protection

  • Maintain continuously updated risk profiles for the corporation and key executives and share critical information as warranted with recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Oversee an executive protection program consistent with the level of threats and risks
  • to senior leaders.
  • Conduct threat assessments focused on domestic operations and disseminate findings as needed.
  • Oversee security awareness training, residential security, movement
  • security, office security, and travel security.
  • Oversee the provision of special security arrangements for a variety of events which involve
  • large concentrations of senior executives, including annual shareholder meetings, off-site Executive Committee meetings, off-site Board of Directors’ meetings, product launches, etc.

Total Rewards:
  • Salary Range: $155,500 - $220,000 
  • Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors
  • Benefits, subject to election and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Paid Time Off (including paid parental leave, vacation, and sick time), 401k with company match, Tuition Reimbursement, and Mileage Reimbursement
  • Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility

Requirements:
  • Extensive first-hand knowledge of various cultures and business practices; and an acute understanding of the commonalities and differences in addressing corporate security objectives and imperatives
  • Exceptional leadership skills including establishing a vision, strategic planning and critical thinking.
  • Ability to prepare clear and succinct written and oral communications for presentation to the company’s senior management team.
  • Ability to persuade and influence internal partners in matters associated with corporate security programs or initiatives.

What Skills/ Requirements will you need to do your job?

  • Candidates must have at least 10 years of relevant global security experience or the equivalent in a Federal Law Enforcement leadership role.
  • A college degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of security operations, policies, and procedures and investigative
  •               methods is required.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local criminal and civil laws and the ability to stay current with all laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to the company’s industry. The ability to understand precisely how these evolving mandates impact the objectives, protocols and practices of the corporate security team.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and leading security initiatives and
  •    advising senior management on insights, implications with appropriate socialization,     communication strategy and deployment approaches to programs.
  • Exceptional team-building skills, collaborative and process- management skill
  • Executive level verbal and written communication skill
  • Effective critical thinking, inductive and deductive reasoning and excellent independent judgment/decision making skill
  • Results orient
  • Unquestioned personal and business integrity.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who can work independently on a frequent basis.
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations, such as ASIS International, DSAC, and ISMA. CPP certification preferred.
