The Director, Business Development will play a key role in driving long-term growth within the fruit juice, snacks, and mixer categories. This position focuses on identifying and executing strategic opportunities to expand the company’s market footprint, including exploring new categories, channels, and potential acquisitions, partnerships, and licensing agreements. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally to validate and execute initiatives that drive revenue, enhance brand presence, and align with the company’s overall strategic objectives. This role requires a dynamic, forward-thinking leader who excels at navigating complex opportunities and partnerships in the Food & Beverage space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Growth Opportunity Identification: Lead the identification of new business opportunities within the fruit juice, snacks, and mixers categories, including category expansion, channel growth, and entry into new markets.
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy for each of the categories, aligning with broader company goals and market trends.
- Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, gaps in the market, and opportunities for differentiation in the categories.
- Partnerships, Acquisitions & Licensing: Explore and negotiate strategic partnerships, acquisitions, joint ventures, and licensing agreements with key stakeholders, including retailers, distributors, and potential external brands to expand market presence and drive revenue growth.
- Financial Modeling & Business Case Development: Lead the creation of business cases for new initiatives, providing financial modeling, forecasts, and risk assessments to support decision-making.
- Integration of Partnership Models: Oversee the integration of all partnership models, including acquisitions, joint ventures, and licensing agreements. Ensure seamless execution and alignment with organizational goals, maximizing the value and strategic fit of each partnership.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Operations, and other internal teams to drive execution and ensure alignment across all functions on new growth initiatives
- Monitoring & Reporting: Track the performance of new partnerships, acquisitions, and growth initiatives, reporting regularly to senior leadership on progress and impact.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Experience: 8+ years in business development or strategic roles within the CPG industry, with a focus on fruit juice, snacks, or mixers categories. Management consulting experience is a plus.
- Skills: Strong strategic thinking, financial modeling, and negotiation skills. Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing partnerships or acquisitions.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of CPG market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics in Food & Beverage.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Mindset: Entrepreneurial, intellectually curious, results-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
