Job Overview:

The Senior Quality Engineer will join the Keurig Dr Pepper Global Product Organization and will work on cross-functional teams, implementing next generation technology for our Keurig appliances

The Senior Quality Engineer works closely with Engineering, Product Management, Reliability/Test Engineering and our Asia Manufacturing Quality teams on multiple activities in support of on-going product quality and reliability improvement efforts. The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for appliance and related manufacturing process quality compliance. This function applies the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process, a strong technical expertise in product development, and quality tool knowledge to ensure that all requirements and specifications are fulfilled

This individual will have the ability to create and maintain product qualification documents used to evaluate new and revised appliance compliance within company standards. The position requires knowledge of quality systems, statistical tools, lean six sigma methodologies, process capability, and understanding of control plans and process flow. Additionally, this person needs to apply analytical thinking to evaluate test and field performance data and develop fact base summaries used as part of the business case required for appliances.

What you will do:

  • Be the champion for Product Quality, Reliability and Attributes across the cross-functional global organization, influencing the design, manufacturing quality and commercialization of our Keurig coffee machines and accessories.
  • Work with Product Management and Engineering to align on clear quality and reliability targets for the development programs.
  • Support new product development projects to deliver the highest quality systems through lessons learned from the field, component reliability, and consumer centered design.
  • Participate in Design Reviews and create project risk assessments from a Product Quality perspective.
  • Facilitate DFMEA Project
  • Work with cross functional teams in defining mitigation plans for High Risk Items found in the DFMEA
  • Drive closure of issues through systematic approach, RCA (fishbone diagram, 5 whys)
  • Work closely with Contract Manufacturers to ensure corrective and preventative actions are cut in timely and accurately.
  • Present and review data/reports related to specific issues to leadership and stakeholders
  • Establish standard procedure and process formats and maintain library of protocol
  • Foster working relationships amongst partners to promote quality, robustness, and reliability.
  • Up to 10% domestic and international travel required

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field or equivalent related experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a relevant industry
  • Previous experience in Quality, Manufacturing, or New Product Development is preferred
  • Previous experience with contract manufacturing and supplier quality management
  • Excellent communication, planning, problem solving, and organizational skills in a global environment
  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma practices including Root Cause Analysis, 8D, A3, Design of Experiments, etc. - Green Belt Certified Preferred
  • Statistics as applicable to high volume product design and manufacture.
  • An aptitude for creating and presenting data-based trade-off studies as input to decision making.
  • Familiar with Return-on-Investment (ROI) analysis methods.
  • Ability to present risks and status of development projects to management and stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Demonstrated record of making critical decisions that positively impact the course of the organization.
  • Effective at mentoring junior staff members
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Self-motivated and experienced in dealing with ambiguity while performing critical project steps
  • Experienced in defining project prioritization and flexible to shift project focus upon business decisions
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Visio and Power Point
  • Familiarity with Lean and Agile development
  • Familiarity with software packages such as JMP, SQL, Tableau, TeamCenter, Confluence, Jira, are desirable
