As a Machinist, you will be responsible for programming, operation, and setup of both manual and/or CNC machines in a small machine shop. You will also work with the assembly team and engineering group to assemble Prototype machinery and Test equipment for the Brewer Development Department. Activities include setup of machine shop equipment, programming, machining parts to specifications using machine such as lathes, mills, water jet, and/or Bridgeport, maintaining shop equipment. Help with continued improvements, developing operational and safety guidelines, and assembling machine components as needed.
What you will do:
- Provide technical expertise for all machining operations, using drawings, machining instructions, and experience
- Set up, adjust, and operate lathe, mill centers and/or Bridgeport to perform precision machining operations
- Design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs
- Bending sheet metal as needed to support built or modifications.
- Assemble of equipment as needed
- Disassemble equipment for problem shooting and root cause
- Use of basic mechanical hand tools
- Coordinate with management and engineers to ensure projects are built on time and according to design specifications
- Proactively identify problematic manufacturing issues such as equipment concerns, processes inefficiencies, and part quality changes
- Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements
- Ensure that all operations are compliant with appropriate quality assurance
- Maintain safe clean work areas and comply with all safety requirements
- Support machine retrofits and tooling upgrades
- Follow all Keurig policies and procedures

- Global Max water jet
- 2025 Haas UMC-500
- 2024 Hass VF2-ss with 4 axis
- 2011 Bridgeport with digital readout
- 2018 Toolroom Protak Lathe

Total Rewards:
- Salary Range: $49,400 - $80,000
- Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors
- Benefits, subject to election and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Paid Time Off (including paid parental leave, vacation, and sick time), 401k with company match, Tuition Reimbursement, and Mileage Reimbursement
- Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility
Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience working as a machinist and programming NC lathes and mills
- Prefer 10 years’ experience working as a machinist and programming
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings
- Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T)
- Ability to work in both metric and standard notation
- Must have experience with performing quality checks with micrometers, calipers, inside mics, depth mics and gauge blocks/pins
- Good English written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organization skills; able to manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously
- Positive attitude with ability to work a fast paced, high-growth environment
- Computer skills using Microsoft office
Preferred to have:
- Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
- Demonstrated outstanding leadership ability
- Ability to identify operational issues and offer solutions
- Familiarity with Fusion 360 or Mastercam
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to frequently kneel, squat, bend and stoop
- Ability to twist, kneel and reach overhead
- Up to 5% travel required
