Batcher Lead
The Batcher Lead is responsible for performing standardized qualitative and quantitative tests on work-in-process and finished products to ensure compliance with company Quality and Food Safety standards. The Batcher Lead is also responsible for providing training and guidance to a team of Syrup Batcher Technicians.
Shift / Schedule: This position will working 2-2-3 Roatating shift 6:00am-6:00pm. Flexibility and availability to work Saturdays, overtime and holidays based on business needs.
Position Responsibilities
- Perform analytical analyses of products at various stages of production to ensure compliance with company Quality and Food Safety standards.
- Responsible for providing accurate results and exhibit sound judgment before releasing data used to adjust syrup tanks and release finished product to market. Must be able to qualify and quantify instrument and analytical output for validity.
- Performs microbiological testing of water, sugar, finished products, etc. by membrane filtration technique. Performs surface swabbing on equipment.
- Assures quality and integrity of raw bulk ingredients such as sugar and concentrates
- Understands chemical principles and theories related to analytical methods and instrumentation, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, Chemical Safety as well as lab housekeeping procedures.
- Responsible for the maintenance of QA document and record control procedures, formula and specification control, consumer complaints, nonconforming materials and products, etc.
- Perform statistical analysis of laboratory data and use data to recommend improvement in processes.
- Responsible for weekly inventory of raw ingredients as well as researching alternative sources to reduce cost without jeopardizing quality.
- Responsible for finished product retain system management.
- Train new personnel and existing Syrup batchers on new procedures and techniques.
- Conduct instrument and method development, perform validation programs on new processes and procedures.
- Assist Quality Supervisor and Quality Manager with special projects as directed.
- Unload railcar and Flexi tankers as needed. Perform quality checks on each.

- Compensation: Starting rate of pay is $33.87/hr

Requirements:
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred
- 3 years laboratory experience in a dairy, food or beverage manufacturing environment preferred
- 2 years of experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, as well as Infinity QS and SAP preferred
